Unexpected Peace

“Unexpected Peace” is a documentary film that follows social anthropologist Dr. Jonathan Bornman as he explores three stories: the Amish school shooting in Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania; the murders of Murid (Sufi Muslim) migrants from Senegal in Harlem, New York; and Muslim-Christian conflict in Solo, Indonesia.

Fostering dialogue and friendship between Christians and Muslims

EMM workers David and Grace Shenk founded this center in the Eastleigh neighborhood of Nairobi, Kenya, in 1978. It is a community center with the goal of fostering dialogue and friendship between Christians and Muslims, and also providing youth with a safe place to do constructive activities like sports. Today, this vision still drives this center to create a space where this can happen.

Christians and Muslims are neighbors more than ever before, all around the world. How do we bear witness to Jesus the Messiah, in our words and our actions, with our Muslim neighbors? The series “Allies for Peace” shows how followers of Jesus in the Anabaptist tradition can engage Muslims in some of the most important questions that face us.

Approaches to Islam: theological and practical

“Approaches to Islam: theological and practical” is a video course that was created by David W. Shenk and produced by Trinity Video Seminary. The course covers twenty topics designed to help followers of Jesus understand the message of Islam, and faithfully commend the gospel of reconciliation as they engage with Muslims.
